Today I want to talk about the best book on songwriting that there is. The book is called "Tune Smith" by Jimmy Webb. Now for those of you who don't recognize the name Jimmy webb, you will certainly recognize his songs. He's the most popular and most successful songwriter of all time...believe it or not, beyond the Beatles or any of those people.
Song Writing Process Explained
Lets continue the series on song writing again. I'd like to explain a bit about my own process. Now, before you say "gee that sounds like a great process, I'll try that" know that no musician has the exact same style and process. As I mentioned in my earlier videos, every song writer has to figure out their own way. It helps to create first a foundation of rhythm that you want to work with. Is it slow or fast? Funky? Straight-ahead?
